About Me
I'm Austin Lara, a self-taught creator that strives to deliver pieces that evoke emotion. Every frame, every edit, or every moment I capture is built with so much love. Whether through photography, film, or design, I put forth my all in capturing memories and creating something that will last a lifetime.
I've never seen myself as the most skilled or the most trained—I just know that I love making others feel something with my work. What may have started as curiosity became something deeper and a way to capture and preserve moments. It's always stuck in my head that as we grow older, all we have are our memories. Memories are just highlights of the happiest moments of our lives.
Over time, photography & filmmaking became more than a passion of mine. It became a way to document life and preserve those moments that felt like they're slipping away. I've always been drawn to the idea that a single image or a few seconds of footage can bring someone back to a moment and allow them to feel it just for that little bit of time. That's what keeps me motivated behind the lens.
Today, I work within my local school district, surrounded by people who inspire me daily. The camera wasn't part of the job description, but it became part of how I contribute—capturing moments that matter to the students, staff, and families who make that space what it is. Beyond that, I continue to build this passion by pouring a piece of myself into projects that hold meaning—not just for others, but for me as well. I strive to create work that feels lived-in and deeply personal.
My work isn't about chasing perfection, it's about capturing something real. Whether it's a fleeting moment or a story waiting to be told, I want my work to make people feel something real.
